Students will critically contextualise and analyse contemporary issues and cultural shifts in Fashion. Students have opportunity to focus on an area of critical and contextual studies that aligns with their personal practice. This unit enables the exploration and professional communication of innovative design concepts and techniques, applicable to defined product categories and market levels. The unit requires students to take an explorative approach to the design and development of fashion / sportswear ranges; through innovative garment finish, details, materials and construction techniques. These may be applied to aspirational but commercial industry/live briefs with emphasis on product categories within a defined market level.
